Since the creation of Duo EØS in 2008 at the ‘Conservatoire de Toulouse’, Angel Villart (accordion) and Louis-Guillaume Ferret (cello) have performed at numerous renowned festivals and venues, including Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, Les Fiéffées Musiciens, Jeunes Talents, the Festival de la Gente, Jubilons, and the Festival des petites églises de montagne. They can also be heard on France Musique, notably on L’Agenda de l’été presented by Saskia de Ville.

Their repertoire centers around Astor Piazzolla, Johann Sebastian Bach, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Dmitri Shostakovich, Hans Zimmer, Patrick Busseuil, Richard Galliano, and many other composers—an array of works that invites audiences on a journey across the world and through different eras. The harmonious blend of these instruments, with their contrasting timbres, allows the duo to offer a fresh and original musical experience.

Their artistic commitment has been recognized with several awards, including a First Prize at the ‘Concours national de l’UNAF’ and a First Prize at the ‘Concours international jeunes talents’ in Normandy.

The story of Duo EØS began in 2008 in Toulouse, when accordionist Angel Villart and cellist Louis-Guillaume Ferret met at the Conservatory of the “Pink City.” There, they explored a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music under the guidance of their chamber music teacher, Guy Olivier Ferla. After obtaining their chamber music diplomas in 2015, Angel and Louis-Guillaume each went on to study at the ‘Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris’ (CNSM), first in solo performance training and then in a Master’s degree in chamber music with Duo EØS, in the class of Emmanuelle Bertrand. In 2023, cellist Élise Comte—also a graduate of the ‘CRR de Toulouse’ and the ‘CNSM de Paris’—joined the duo alongside Louis-Guillaume and Angel.
